DR HELEN
BLAKE

I have studied the subject of Psychology since my teens and pursued a career in this field because of my curiosity about people and how they think and behave. I originally trained and worked as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist starting out in assessment and selection but gradually moving towards emotional and mental well[-being in the workplace. This lead to my decision to achieve my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and to specialise in providing psychological therapy.

I am registered with the HCPC - Health Care and Professions Council (PLY02664)as well as being an Affiliate Member of The British Psychological Society (BPS) (108803). Both these organisations provide professional registration and guidance for qualified psycholgists that help to protect the public. You can find my details on both websites by searching for name or membership number.

  • Doctorate in Counselling Psychology - York St John University

I have a first-class doctorate degree in Counselling Psychology which involved a series of placements in mental health settings and a thesis alongside teaching. My thesis explored the impact of the Covid pandemic on domestic abuse workers in terms of vicarious trauma.

My first career as a psychologist was as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist which involved working in public and private sector organisations, supporting teams and individuals to improve their performance and mental wellbeing at work.

  • MSc in Industrial Psychology - The University of Hull

  • BSc(Hons) in Psychology - The University of Manchester
